ANDROGENS AND MUSCLE HYPERTROPHY

Skeletal muscle hypertrophy (growth) and androgens go hand in hand.  Unless you’re a genetic, myostatin-blocking mutant, it’s likely that gaining weight and muscle is harder than skydiving without a parachute. OK, maybe not that hard. Testosterone and many of its pharmaceutical derivatives are clearly the most effective of the anabolics (sorry, GH, IGF-1, insulin, etc.). Many androgens can be rightly used for treating wasting disorders, treatment of anemia and prevention of depression resulting from having too-low blood testosterone levels. Of course, some of the more intriguing biological questions surround how testosterone and its derivatives work. That is, what’s the mechanism?
Androgen receptors, or the AR, are the likely candidates for where you should look to unlock the keys to how androgens exert their many varied effects. In fact, levels of androgen receptor are uniquely sensitive to circulating levels of androgen.1 However, in that study, DHT, or dihydrotestosterone, was administered to rats. DHT is a very androgenic steroid. There are better androgens (i.e., with greater anabolic activity and less androgenic activity).  Thus, scientists from the University of South Carolina sought to elucidate on the mechanisms by which a nandrolone decanoate, also fondly known as Deca-Durabolin or Deca, affected muscles in rats.
Deca was given to rats at a dose of six milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) body weight weekly for four weeks. This dose would be equivalent to 545 milligrams of Deca weekly for a 200-pound individual. That’s not what I’d consider a high dose, but certainly one that should exert anabolic effects. The rats getting the Deca were either young (five months) or old (25 months). The researchers found that Deca reduced body fat (measured in the abdomen around the kidneys) in the old rats, but not the young rats. Now, the odd part is that Deca had no effect on muscle weights. This, despite the fact that Deca increased AR protein significantly in both young and old rats. Interestingly, this effect was seen primarily in the slow muscle fiber types found in the soleus muscle (but not the fast-twitch dominant plantaris muscle).

What did they find? Testosterone didn’t change for any of the protocols.  The number of sets didn’t affect hormonal response in the MS protocol.  Cortisol and GH responses were greater after four sets compared to two sets in the MH and SE protocols, with no differences between the six-set and four-set sessions of the MH protocol.

Muscle women – female bodybuilders

Starting Position: To reduce the chance of lower back injury, we recommend using a weight belt for this exercise. Rest a barbell on the upper portion of your back, not your neck. Firmly grip the bar with your hands almost twice your shoulder width apart. Position your feet on a heel raise so that the balls of your feet are resting on the floor and your heels are elevated.Your feet should be about shoulder-width apart, with your toes pointing slightly outward and knees over the toes.

The Exercise: Keeping your back as straight as possible and your chin up, bend your knees and slowly lower your hips straight down until your thighs are parallel with the floor. Once you reach the bottom position, press the weight up from your heels. Inhale on the way down and exhale on the way up.

Steroids

Steroids are a class of organic compounds belonging to the chemical nature of isoprenoids.

Different types of Steroids  widespread in nature and are found in microorganisms, plants and animals, one of the main chemical evolution C. - their specialization as biological controls - hormones, etc.

All Steroids  formally derive hypothetical hydrocarbon steranes (I, R = H), and biogenetic come from squalene, which is converted in the next polycyclic precursor Steroids. - lanosterol (in animals) or cycloartenol (plants), containing 30 carbon atoms (S30 ).

Almost all Steroids are - crystalline substances with optical activity and better soluble in organic solvents than in water.

Children with bodybuilders

"The world bodybuilding" - is a project of Kurt Stallerta, Belgian photographer who creates hyper-realistic pictures, the main theme of which is the strength.

At first glance appear to be ordinary objects, conventional decorations. But looking more closely, you realize that it is children, and their body is not for children ...

Sweet smile, stunning biceps!

All in all, it really wasn't as hard as they thought it'd be. Now, Jen workout and do the same exercises the other women do.  Eric created such a positive and uplifting environment. She looked forward to and got excited about working out!
Eric's amazing can-do positive attitude is what made this transformation possible! After Jen  finishing her transformation and getting a lot of great advice from Eric, She saw that She was more than JUST a performer her  career goals have expanded tremendously; She knows She can do ANYTHING! She has a huge passion for acting, speaking, and hosting.

Sweet smile, stunning biceps!

Some of Jen career goals are to write a book, be in a movie, be on the cover of a fitness magazine, and to become a TV host/personality. She was recently featured on Inside Edition, Good Morning America, 20/20, and Glee. She is still traveling and performing all over and pursuing her career as an on-camera host!

How Jennifer Bricker Did It

She met Eric on a Saturday and was at my first workout/consultation on Tuesday. She was ready to rock! When he showed her everything that She had to stop eating She was sad!
She LOVEs food and didn't want to give those things up, but She wanted her career to be successful.
So, the next week She started going to bed between 9-10 p.m. and cut out A LOT of food She had been eating (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, bananas, peanut butter, cereal, etc).
Her trainer  took the challenge of training a person without legs full on.
His method for working out women primarily focuses on their lower body. How would this work for me? We did a lot of brainstorming and trial by error.
The first couple sessions were experimental to see how many of his methods would work for Jennifer and how we would need to alter them. Surprisingly, not much had to be altered; Jenny was able to do all of the exercises everyone else did.

The biggest challenge was having 100 percent focus on making sure her thighs replicated the same movement and motion that everyone else created with their legs. In the beginning, her range of motion was limited, but now it's MUCH easier for her to target specific areas.

Jennifer moved to L.A. in search of an entertainment career. She started with fitness.

She grew up on a TINY farm town in Southern Illinois, adopted.  She was born without any legs. Thanks to her mainstream upbringing, She knew NO limits and NOTHING was impossible! She competed in softball, basketball, volleyball, and power tumbling against able-bodied athletes. However, She knew absolutely NOTHING about REAL nutrition, fitness, or working out. She had never met a vegetarian or vegan in her  life. People like that just didn't exist in her "world."

She entered the entertainment world in 2008 when She moved to Orlando, Florida to work at Disney World. She was a small town girl coming from tractors, fried food, and cornfields; growing up with absolutely NO concept of a diet and/or workout program. What She encountered would change my life forever.
She started seeing acrobats and aerialists everyday and thought, "I can totally do that!" So, She started looking for people to work with and/or teach me.
She  was a natural, and fell in love with performing.
For the next five years, She got the opportunity to travel around the world and perform for people at amazing shows.
All of the performers looked like statues that had been chiseled out of stone! She never thought She could look like that! She shed a little bit of weight just from the acrobat training, but still wasn't where She wanted to be.
